We are in Cologne with our dear client String Furniture this weekend to set up this years first stand for them and this year we are building a String-house at the fairs, inspired by our 2018 String catalogue photoshoot in the amazing house Villa Frösakull by Jonas Lindvall. I hope you enjoy our String House and the new catalogue in Imm Cologne the upcoming week. See more images from the catalogue in our styling portfolio.
New work out for String furniture, styling by me, photo Marcus Lawett.
Here are some of my favourite pictures from my latest photoshoot for String furniture a couple of months ago.
We did also build up the white set for Strings stand at London Design Week last fall and right now my dear assistant Sara is in Cologne (with camel and deer skull in the hand luggage..) to set it up for the furnishing show IMM that starts on monday. Don’t miss out..
You can see all the 2014 pictures from the photoshoot here.

I just came back from a one week long photo shoot in Copenhagen last night and today we start working with the preparations for Stockholm Furniture Fair 2018. This year we are doing 4 projects that we are all equally excited about.
First we are doing a 250 sqm large exhibition for Dux at Scenkonstens museum in Stockholm, the exhibition will be made like a loft living and contains most parts of DUX pieces in new covers by Lotta Agaton Interiors and I have also added some of my personal favourites like; art by Emma Bernhard and Åsa Stenerhag, sculptures by Bo Arenander, pieces from Jacksons rugs from Tisca, lamps by Gino Sarfatti..and more, don’t miss out..it will be open all week by invitations and to the public on Friday and Saturday.
At the fair we will be doing three stands, first and always my favourite, the stand for String Furniture, our dear client since many years. This year we are creating a complete String House to show the versatility of the shelf and to go with the new images we shot at villa Frösakull by Jonas Lindwall. String Furnitures stand will be in A 04:20
We are also doing the stand for our new client Tisca rugs who produces their rugs in pure wool and linen in Transylvania, you might have seen glimpses from the stand in Hannover a couple of weeks ago. I have also designed my first rug for them, in a yarn called Bella-so the rug is called Bella Lotta and was actually just made for my styling of the stand but turned out to be the best seller in Hannover. You find Tisca and Bella Lotta in stand B 09:25
Finally we will also be doing the styling of the stand made by Halleroed for our dear client Lintex, we have also had the pleasure of styling the photos for Lintex during the year which will be released during the fair along with the new furnitures by Halleroed, you find Lintex in stand B 04:25.
Have a great fair everyone!
We have left Hannover and arrived in Cologne today to do String Furnitures stand at IMM and we are staying at this beautiful hotel, The Qvest.
Officially Stockholm Furniture Fair kicked off last night with two of this weeks grandest events, so after finishing building String Furnitures stand (with maybe the largest shelf ever..phew) at the fair I swiped the dust off my shoulders. jumped in the car and joined the black and updressed design crowd for Tidskriften Rums gala and Elle Decorations Design Awards. Thank you both for a great evening, and thank you Grand Relations and Trendgruppen for fantastic arrangements and such a great start of the Design Week.
Apart from the dust, I love working at the fair, seeing everything coming together and another upside is that you can stroll around att sneak peek the news. One new favorite is the never failing trio Claesson Koivisto Runes Smaller Objects.
If you follow me on Instagram (lottaagaton) you know that I was in Cologne at IMM making a stand at the fair for String Furniture this weekend. Before heading home i browsed through the fair quickly and one of my favorite news was the outdoor furnitures “All season” by Marcel Breuer and Mies van der Rohe from Thonet.
Thanks for reminding me Inredningshjälpen.
I just came back from London Design Festival yesterday, I was there to create String Furnitures exhibition at Design Junction but I managed to pop over to Somerset House for an hour to see the exhibitions there. This is Faye Toogoods Drawing room, amazing as always. Read more here.
Today Stockholm Furniture Fair 2014 opened and I have had the privilege of doing the catalogues and stands at the fair for both Lammhults and String Furniture. I am really happy to have clients like this that sees the whole picture and understands the importance of a longterm relationship and branding. Today Lammhults released their new pictures that I did a couple of months ago together with dear photographer Mikkel Mortensen.
I just came back from London last night where I have been doing String Furnitures exhibition at Designjunction (in the fantastic Old Sorting Office at New Oxford street). I didn’t have time to see much of London Design Festival but one thing I did see was Wrong for Hay, a brand new furniture collection by Sebastian Wrong for Danish HAY, all set up in a beautiful Georgian townhouse. I have been so curious about this collaboration and I did not get disapointed, I loved the exhibition, colours and the basic modern touch on the furnitures. See more here.
Normally I never show my private photos here on the blog but I just went through Stefans great report from Milan and I find it so generous that he always shows every step he takes so I thought I should share some of my private Milan snapshots too (all taken with my Iphone).
I always try to start off the Milan design week with lunch in the sun and some shopping at 10 Corso Como before work starts, this year was no exeption.
The first work thing I did this year was Strings stand at Superstudio…
Snapshots from Milan.
The rest of the weekend I spent at the fair where I did Lammhults stand..The tree doesn’t look that big but it took some struggeling (and tip) by me and my assistant Emelie to get the 2,50 meter high cherry blossom into a taxi.
I love the atmosphere at the fair in Milan when all the stands are being put together and to be able to sneak at the news before everyone else..
On tuesday when thar fair officially opened we starded off at Li Edelkoorts nomadism exhibition for Altai.
And then off to one of my favourite exhibitions this year, Karl Lagerfelds photos from the book “The little black jacket” styled by Carine Roitfeld for Chanel.
..and Paola Lenti was fantastic as always..
On Via Durini all the major Italian brands has their impressive showrooms. Classic styling at B&B and more playful at Cassina.
Flawless at Porro and Bulthaup.
And some De Padova love!
Maybe this years most talked about exhibition, Moooi. Impressive and very Marcel Wanders..It isn’t exactly my personal taste but I always like it when exhibitions are made fully out like this.
Inspiring corners of the city.
Nendo and Boffi.
I love the apartment upstairs at Boffis. So Italian. So Milan.
I think the area in Lambrate was my favourite this year, very playful, very dutch and very inspiring.
Contrasts. From Lambrate to Hermès fantastic installation.
Two other favourites…Cos exhibition by Bonsoir Paris and Rossana Orlandis private office.
At the actual fair and as always one of my favourite stands was Morosos and MDF Italias. I also loved the lamps by Michael Anastassiades (who seems to be the big IT name this year) for Flos.
Glamour from Edra and Baccharat.
Last day we escaped the fair and took a tour at Villa Necchi Campiglio, built 1932 by Italian architect Piero Portaluppi. Amazing. (Tack Daniel för att du tog med oss!)
Finally, after a very cold but inspiring week Fredrik and I rented a car and drove by lake Como and had a fantastic lunch in the sun followed by two magic days skiing in Engelberg with no clouds, no, wind, no people and great snow.
That was it!
