The word Minimalism is often talked about as a trend today, and yes it is probably the inspiration behind what is coming up next but to me minimalism is something else and so much more then a trend. Minimalism is a post modernist artform and that was founded by artists like Donald Judd, Frank Stella, Agnes Martin and Ellsworth Kelly, from where minimalistic architecture and interior design has found its inspiration for decades. These artists and the minimalistic architects and designers like Tadao Ando, Claudio Silvestrin, Dieter Rams, Álvaro Siza Vieira, John Pawson, Peter Zumthor and Vincent van Dyusen have all been my biggest inspiration for as long as I can remember and my safe place where I always can go back and breathe. To me it is not a new trend and it has nothing to do with smaller still-lifes and new wall colours, it has to do with lines, materials and details. It is an artform and a matter of perfection in details to which there are no shortcuts.
